Ultralight technology from the 1880’s. Our Nessmuk Pack is patterned from history and brought to you from the Frost River shop in Duluth, Minnesota, USA. There are a pair of external pockets on one side, a single long pocket on the other. Inside, there’s the main bag with a hanging zip pocket along with a full size slip pocket at the front. A buckled hood with a handy grab handle and waxed canvas throughout.

It is a reproduction of writer George Washington Sears’ (a.k.a Nessmuk’s) old Maine guide pack from the 1880’s. Popular for a reason, it is a great size! Perfect for a day’s load of gear and even more if you pack right and have compressible stuff. It also works great as a second pack on a canoe trip. A long, single 2-in-1 pocket on one side, shorter twin 2-in-1 pockets vertically stacked on the other side (2-in-1 pockets allow storage of long, flat items to be stored between the pocket and and pack body). Inside, there is a smaller hanging pocket and a slip pocket at the front of the pack. The Nessmuk has a leather grab handle and is built at Frost River from 18oz. waxed cotton canvas.
